Non-Traditional Learning
Bellevue University grants credit for college-level learning that a student has obtained through sources other than college classes. Students may be granted credit for college-level learning acquired outside of a regionally accredited college setting. Assessment of such learning will be conducted or validated by Bellevue University based on the standards promulgated by nationally recognized educational agencies such as the American Council on Education (A.C.E.), the Council of Adult and Experiential Learning (C.A.E.L.), the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS), The Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, and the Council for Higher Education (C.H.E.A.).
Procedures are in place to assess student learning from:
- Non-regionally accredited institutions
- American Council on Education recommendations
- Corporate training or programs
- CLEP/DSST tests
- Experiential Learning Assessment
The Registrar, in accordance with University policy, will determine whether such credits satisfy major, core, or general elective requirements toward the baccalaureate degree.
